The Prasouda diet is a another name for the Mediterranean diet, and apparently, people who live in the Mediterranean areas like Greece, Spain, Italy and others, don’t suffer from a high rate of western diseases like the dreaded metabolic syndrome and even high levels of heart ailments.

There are some confounders, such as the fact that people in this area get a lot of sun and therefore Vitamin D, but there have been some promising studies on this diet.

Foods Included in the Mediterranean Diet

1. Vegetables, fruits and legumes Consumption of these foods is relatively high

2. Unrefined olive oil.

3. Cereals. Quite a bit of cereal grains are consumed, mostly unrefined varieties

4. Fish – much more than that of western countries.

5. Meat. Meat consumption is fairly low

6. Dairy products such as cheese and yogurt.

7. Wine. Some wine is included in the Prasouda/Mediterranean diet

8. Nuts. A common snack on this diet is nuts

The Prasouda diet is healthier than most and receives the highest marks in research studies. There is a simple reason for this: the food is not processed and contains natural foods.

Some grains are involved in the diet. All are unrefined, of real and nutritious quality.

The diet is traditionally consistent with a low Omega-6 fatty acid counts compared to Omega-3. This ratio is what drives heart disease.

What can you expect from the Prasouda diet is, weight loss, lowered insulin resistance, less heart disease and diabetes risk, lower blood pressure. Basically anything that comes from following a healthy diet.

This diet is centered on eating real food, and is most definitely way superior to the standard western diet. A low-carbohydrate diet focused on unprocessed foods would probably be better for diabetic people or those who have a hard time losing weight.

Whether you want to get started with getting your body in shape and healthier, or you’re already in good shape and want to maintain it, there are always more things you can do to improve your existing routines and add some excitement into your daily life. Getting started with the Prasouda Diet is a great first step.

If you have high blood sugar symptoms, then follow Betty’s advice on healthy lunch recipes. One of her tips is to use cinnamon, because results have shown a positive result between cinnamon and diabetes in controlling this condition.
