Exploring the secrets of fast permanent weight loss
Finding a natural dry eye remedy can be very easy. There is so much more available than eye drops. When your eyes are feeling itchy, dry or burning you can try something new. If they feel as if they have grit in them or may even be sore, know that relief if possible.
What keeps eyes moist is the production of tears. Tears consist of layers of mucus, oil and water. Dry eye usually occurs when this production changes significantly. Typically it is thought that the eyes only become dry but the lack of moisture can make eyes produce more tears than usual. The overproduction makes for watery eyes.
It is a condition that usually affects those over 65. About 10% of those between the ages of 30 to 60 will experience the condition as well. More women than men because of the many hormonal changes women face during life. Hormone replacement therapy can also contribute to symptoms.
Besides hormonal changes, eye surgery, environmental conditions, aging, computer use and some medications can cause this condition. Smoke, excessive heat in the air, dry air, and air conditioning can do the same. Any vents should be directed away from you. There are medical treatments, especially those involving radiation, that can lead to eyes being dry.
Often artificial tears are recommended. Those drops that are used to remove redness can lead to further drying. The ingredients can sometimes cause an allergic reaction in the eyes. Contact lens wearers often voice concern about the dryness of their eyes. This is due to the lenses themselves irritating the inside of the eyelids and absorbing the tears the eyes produce.
There are several natural ways to ease your symptoms. In an environment where the air is dry, try a humidifier. When outside use sunglasses, those that wrap around offer more protection. Something we should do for general health everyday is drink water. When working and staring at a computer screen or playing a video game we blink less often than normal. Take a break and blink whenever you remember, at least once an hour. To keep the oil glands clog free use a warm compress on your eyes for periods of 10 to 15 minutes.
There are also some supplements that are recommended for dry eye remedy. Omega 3 and flaxseed oil have been shown to be very effective. Those taking Omega 3 have reported a decrease in symptoms by up to 68%. Vitamin A, B2 and C can also help. If your symptoms are more serious, to the degree your vision is affected or you have chronic pain, you will need to see your physician for more invasive treatments.
