Hi! My 11 year old son was wanting to loose weight because he is tired of being chubby/fat. He is 5’1 and weighs 117 pounds and is wanting to loose about 20 pounds by fall. If he runs the treadmill for 30-50 minutes a day, walks around the neighborhood, cuts soda and only eats three light meals a day will he loose weight?? I am not sure so please don’t say that is too much or isn’t enough. Thank you very much!

Nothing can come close to how great soda pop is, and I’ve loved the fizzy sweetness of drinking one since I was a small child. I can drink anything, from lemon lime to orange to a nice refreshing Pepsi, and never get tired of it.

It has to be one of my favorite drinks to ingest, and it is sad that I should start thinking about cutting down. The older I get, the more I realize that drinking a lot of soda cannot possibly be that good for me.

It is kind of funny that I drink a lot of soda, and yet watch what I eat pretty closely. Maybe that is why I don’t like diet soda. There are a lot of added chemicals in the product that make me a little nervous about drinking too much of those kinds either.

Another alternative to both regular and diet soda is seltzer water. It has the same fizz and coolness when it goes down my throat, but it doesn’t taste good, and I miss the sugar and other flavors that it doesn’t have.

So, since I’ve pretty much eliminated regular, diet and seltzer from my list of things that I should put in my body, that leaves me with few options. But, as luck would have it, I have found the perfect solution: Carbonated fruit drinks.

While there must be tons of different kinds of carbonated fruit drinks on the market, I’ve picked two that I think are awesome. Both of them have a great selection of flavors and taste good as well. They are Izze and Fizzy Lizzy’s.

Since they both don’t add any sugar to their recipes, it is hard to compare them to your typical style of soda pop. These drinks are basically fruit mixtures added to some seltzer water and then stored under pressure.

You can find these carbonated fruit drinks at your local grocery store, in addition a host of other locations as well. These make a great alternative to drinking regular or diet soda whenever you get thirsty.
