Here’s our collection of top four strolls in Ireland that may help to add a little variety in your weekend jogging! Variety keeps you on course for weight loss as it keeps you from getting bored to death.
1. The Leitrim Way, Leitrim – Leitrim is a little identified but really stunning part of Ireland. This stroll passes through a variety of scenery features present with the area. Starting on the East shore of Lough Allen, the jogger moves by way of wonderful surroundings until reaching Barlear. The path is comprised of aged and fresh tracks. It’s usually more attractive to walk from Drumshambo to Manorhamilton. The entire distance is 48km/30 miles and the greatest stage is from Dowra to Manorhamilton which is approximately a distance of 32km/20 miles.
2. Howth Coastal Path, Dublin – Begin your stroll towards the east of Howth Village for the parking area of Balscadden Bay. From this point, a track takes you up and around the Nose of Howth and onto the cliff tops. Continue uphill, taking in the amazing views of Lambay Island and Ireland’s Eye. Care must be used because the path runs not far from the edge of the ledge. Moving upwards to 120m, a small detour to the south takes you to Baily Lighthouse, the last of Ireland’s 82 lighthouses to become automated.
3. The Western Way, Galway – This famous trail, The Western Way, starts in Oughterard around the coast line of Lough Corrib. It winds it’s way through Connemara’s Highlands providing outstanding views of mountain tops, wetlands and shoreline, including the great fjord of Killary harbour.
4. Jenkinstown Park, Co. Kilkenny – This Woodland Park is associated with the Thomas Moore song “The Last Rose of Summer”. There is a deer park, created strolls of varying length plus an estate and farm structures which include interest to the park.
