To the people who are ardent visitors of the gym, there is one common mistake they will admit to committing every now and then. This mistake is of course that of downplaying the warm up session and going straight into active working out session.

You will find certain explanations regarding what makes it happen. One of these reasons is that people spend little time working out.

Therefore, as much as you are psyched up about lifting and pushing barbells or whatever exercises are you do, warming up is a very crucial step.

Speaking from experience, it is right to say that warming up should be treated with equal importance with the remaining part of the exercise routine. This ensures that you don’t end up bagging unnecessary injuries. You also warm up the muscles well enough for training.

On average, if you need to be sure that you are warm enough, do a drill on the treadmill for about 15 minutes. That will normally prepare you for the stretching. Do it immediately after a warm up session. That helps blood flow and muscle development.

A serious session of warm up and stretching should be allocated at most 20 minutes to the overall gym time.

Remember that the gym is somewhere that people still get injuries. In this sense, warming up prepares muscles for the work ahead and in that, the likelihood of picking up niggling injuries reduces.

The biology behind it is pretty simple; whenever someone does some warm up, there is always a great increase in the rate which blood circulates through the body. This becomes a launching pad for the muscle cells to be able to thrive. For this reason, you notice that without proper warm-up, some muscles give up.

Once more, it is wise to think in the lines of increasing your amino acid intake and protein additives. The supplements should be followed by diligent and hard training which will help build muscle.
