There are also processed carbohydrates which are classed as complex because they have only been slightly refined and still contain many nutrients. Things such as whole wheat or multi grain bread and whole wheat pasta fall into this category. Some fruits and vegetables are on the list such as spinach, lettuce, radish, prunes and apricots.

There are plenty of healthy carbohydrates and they should form part of a healthy diet. They are full of nutrients and will satisfy your hunger for a long time.
