Exploring the secrets of fast permanent weight loss
Nowadays, we were taught in schools, told by health-related magazines or by the media that cholesterol is the sole culprit in the clogging of the coronary arteries of those people who develop a heart problem. And the part where calcium plays a vital role in the process has been disregarded. So you may not hear the term “calcification” in any of the processes that involve clogging of the arteries no more.
When someone, especially the media discusses on cardiac illness, they refer to it as a disease due to the piling up of cholesterol in the arteries which supply blood to the hear – the coronary arteries. The truth is, this is only a part of the process. What is omitted here is the real villain that is none other than – calcium. Why? The arteries don’t get hard until the calcium level begins to build up. The calcium actually builds up INSIDE the cells. Prior to that point, despite the fact that free radicals (unstable molecules that can cause damage to the cells) do contribute to the disease, the arteries are flexible enough so that the blood circulation can be maintained and the blood supply continues to pass through.
The real danger starts when there is a build-up of calcium inside the individual cells of the artery, making the artery rigid, thus, it has become non flexible, and thus, it will become more difficult for the blood to easily pass through. In times where our heart needs a lot of blood supply to keep itself alive, these arteries that has become rigid restricts the blood vessels to widen up than before to allow the blood to pass through, as a result the heart is deprived of oxygen rich blood and nutrients. Without oxygen and nutrients, these clogging together with cholesterol, can cause the cells of the heart to undergo cellar death, and the only fatal complication is none other than a heart attack.
Cholesterol is a soft, margarine like substance. If the sole substance that build-up on the inside the walls of the arteries were cholesterol, it would not get hard and the flow of blood would wash away the stuff. But, when that cholesterol binds together up with calcium, the combination of the two becomes hard. That is why the real and honest term is supposed to be the “hardening of the arteries”.
All in all, we still have to go back to the basics. If your cholesterol level in your blood is within safe range, then, there would be no cholesterol to pile up in the coronary arteries and cause heart attack – after all, calcium won’t deposit if there is no cholesterol buildup in the arteries alone without cholesterol.
